Nadia Buari and Veronique Pierre In Supple Magazine

Nadia Buari

The pretty and sexy Ghanaian-Lebanese actress Nadia Buari is the cover story and the beautiful and multi-talented French Canadian born actress and singer, Veronique Pierre is writing a column called Hollywood Insider for the new Supple magazine published by one of my highly recommended publishers, Hope Obioma Opara in Lagos, Nigeria.

Veronique Pierre

The production of Supple magazine was part of my working visit to Lagos and I stayed with the publisher and worked in his office. He is like a brother to me than being my publisher and business partner. We are partners in progress. The Language of True Love published by Hope Opara's Flonnal Limited is still the best selling book of romance in Bonny Kingdom and a collectors item.

I had a great time doing my best for the editorial board of Supple magazine in Lagos.
I contacted my beautiful friend Veronique and we spoke on phone whilst she was in Canada. She is someone I truly admire, appreciate and I love, for the hallmarks of her unique personality. Her natural beauty, dignity, humility and integrity. I want to bring her to our Nollywood and she wants me to come to Hollywood where she believes I would be more appreciated. She has already written and sent the first article for her column.

I am glad and grateful to God for knowing someone as special as Veronique Pierre.
She is Wow!

Supple magazine will be the first Nigerian magazine to be distributed by Amazon and you can order for copies right here on Kisses & Roses.

'I'm a Happier Person Than I Was Before': Actress Elizabeth Perkins of Showtime's 'Weeds'

'I'm a Happier Person Than I Was Before': Actress Elizabeth Perkins of Showtime's 'Weeds' Shares Her Story of Diagnosis, Treatment, and Coping With Type 1 Diabetes in Hollywood

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

Actress Elizabeth Perkins has come a long way in the few years since she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 44. "I'm actually a happier person than I was before I was diagnosed," she tells the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) consumer magazine, Diabetes Forecast, in the February 2008 issue. In this exclusive interview Perkins discusses her diagnosis, treatment regimen, and the ways in which having diabetes has made an impact on her Hollywood career.

Perkins, who has received multiple award nominations for her role in the critically acclaimed Showtime series Weeds, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2005 while filming the first season of the show. "I felt completely overwhelmed that first year on the show, and I didn't tell anybody I had diabetes. All of a sudden I was in my trailer at work, testing my glucose, and shooting myself up, and I was really scared and felt very alone and completely in over my head...it took me a good year and a half to embrace this and say, proudly, 'I'm diabetic and I'm in control of my disease.'" Type 1 diabetes commonly develops in children, but can occur at any age.

Although Perkins was already familiar with healthy dieting and regular exercise to stay fit for the cameras, having diabetes allowed Perkins to make another important change in her lifestyle. "I really learned to listen to my body and to know what I needed. And there are times I need to rest, and before I never allowed myself to do that."

The experience of coping with the illness has helped Perkins to develop her Weeds character, Celia Hodes. "I was testing my blood, learning how to draw syringes, and injecting myself, unbeknownst to everybody around me...I think that definitely translated into my character: I was just sort of out on a limb, on my own, and there was not going to be anybody to save me except myself." And now? "I'm actually a happier person than I was before I was diagnosed. I have a much greater perspective on the world around me."

Also in this issue:

More American women than men -- twenty-nine percent -- die of heart disease. Recent research has revealed that heart disease differs in crucial ways between men and women, including the symptoms of and age at which a heart attack occurs and the sudden increase in risk of heart disease during and after menopause, as compared to a gradual increase in risk for men as they age. This information, along with articles that share tips about protecting your heart and keeping your feet healthy, are in a special section of Diabetes Forecast in recognition of American Heart Month.

In addition, the February 2008 issue brings you stories about:
-- Everything you need to know about hypoglycemia.
-- ADA's newest National Youth Advocate.
-- Recipes that give staple winter fruits fresh new flavors.

Diabetes Forecast has been America's leading diabetes magazine for 60 years. Each full-color issue offers the latest news on diabetes research and treatment. Its mission is to provide information, inspiration, and support to people with diabetes, helping them to live a healthier lifestyle, control their diabetes, and prevent or treat its many complications. The magazine is published monthly by the American Diabetes Association.

The Women Men Like and The Women Men Dislike

18. "There are three things that are too amazing for me,
four that I do not understand:
19. the way of an eagle in the sky,
the way of a snake on a rock,
the way of a ship on the high seas,
and the way of a man with a maiden.
Proverbs 30: 18-19 (New International Version)

Queen Ebong, A young Nigerian poet and blogger

She is determined and hardworking online and offline.

Regina Askia, a top Nigerian actress.
She is a hardworking Nollywood actress and loving mother.
Men love hardworking women and women who would be good mothers.

Women should not be too possessive, because men love freedom and you should respect their independence.

Cameron Richardson, my favourite Hollywood actress with love.
Men love attractive women who are clean.

Cameron Richardson showing you how to keep your man.
Men love women who are very imaginative in bed.
If he is really the man you love and you want to have for keeps, then do your best to hook him and hook him for good. Make him asking for more and more.

99% of men are first attracted by the sex appeal of a woman.
What I call the lust at first sight natural instinct.
Is she pretty and sexy?
Then afterwards, men are interested in her character.
Does she have good manners or bad manners.

Men like the following:

1. Attractive women
2. Hygienic and healthy women.
3. Well bred and disciplined women
4. Women who know how to make love. French kisses go a long way and imaginative lovers are exciting to men.
5. Honest and transparent women. Do not keep things hidden from from him. Be honest from the beginning.
6. Hardworking women who challenge their men to become better and greater in life.
7. Women who respect men.
Men love respect.
If you disrespect your man, you are going to lose him to the woman who respects him.

Men dislike the following:

1. Unattractive women, (please, do not mistake this for the "Ugly Betty". )
2. Women without good manners, women who talk too much or pick the nose and women who curse and swear indoors or outdoors.
3. Dirty and unhygienic women
4. Women who do not know how to make love.
5. Women who tell lies.
6. Women who are lazy.
7. Women who do not respect men.

I recommend you read my book, "The Language of True Love", published by Flonnal Limited and distributed worldwide by Lulu Enterprises. The book is a must read for women and men who want to know how to keep their lovers for long.

The Dangers of Cosmetic Surgery

It would be like searching for a needle in a haystack if you are searching for any of the celebrated beauties in Hollywood who has not done cosmetic or plastic surgery. The quest for the perfect or ageless beauty has made thousands of self-conscious celebrities to make surgical modifications to their faces, because their faces are their means of fame and fortune. But if we see what cosmetic surgery has done to the face of Michael Jackson, you need to think twice before attempting to do yours.

The following video is a must watch.

Memories of Yesterday: Seeta Aur Geeta

My father of blessed memory was a film buff who loved Hollywood and Bollywood and he took us to see films every weekend in the 1970s in Lagos.

We went to the popular cinema houses, Kings Cinema on Igbosere Street in Lafiaji, Sheila on the Broad Street near Campus Square, Plaza on Berkley Street in Onikan and Royal Cinema near the Lion's Building of the Nigerian Police Force off Broad Street.
My father, my mother, my elder brother, younger sister, two younger brothers and my youngest brother who was a toddler then was always strapped on my mother's back with her wrapper and another long strip of cloth called Oja by the Yorubas as we took cabs to these cinema houses.

I loved the Western Cowboys versus Red Indian films, war films and Bollywood films.
One of the Bollywood films I cannot forget is Seeta Aur Geeta, when the most celebrated Bollywood actress Hema Malini was at the zenith of her beauty and acting genius. No boy or man saw Hema Malini in her youth and did not fall in love with her. She was just too attractive and captivating on the silver screen.

Directed by Ramesh Sippy
Produced by R. P. Sippy
Written by Salim-Javed
Starring Hema Malini,
Sanjeev Kumar,
Dharmendra
Music by R. D. Burman
Release date(s) 1972
Running time 166 mins
Language Hindi

Hema Malini is now 59 years old and still very beautiful as she is aging gracefully.

Hema Malini

I thought Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini would end up as husband and wife, because they were the best match in Bollywood in those wonderful years of the 1970s.

Amitabh Bachchan

Sholay is rated as the best Bollywood film of all time. I consider Seeta Aur Geeta as the most romantic Bollywood thriller since 1972 till date.

Seeta Aur Geetais a 1972 Hindi film directed by Ramesh Sippy. The story is by Salim-Javed and the music by R.D. Burman.

The story is about identical twins (played by Hema Malini) who are separated at birth and grow up with different temperaments. The twins then swap places (like The Prince and the Pauper). Hema's two partners in the movie are played by Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar. Manorama excels in her role as the evil aunt who changes her tune after her arm is twisted (literally).

"These 10 paintings reflect her captivating humor, style, elegance and grace, and through them I am proud to honor the late Princess' legacy by donating the proceeds of the sales of these paintings to charitable organizations that will further Diana's philanthropic mission."

Celebrities who lent their support include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Senator Hillary Clinton, renowned architect Frank Gehry, actor David Caruso, acclaimed singer and actress Liza Minelli, actress Demi Moore, Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Sargeant and Eunice Kennedy Shriver, supermodel Petra Nemcova and California First Lady Maria Shriver.

"The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund is very pleased that Romero Britto has decided to donate the proceeds of these incredibly unique portraits of Princess Diana to the fund. Everybody involved in this project should be aware that we will use this money to support the humanitarian causes that Diana was involved with," said Paul Hensby, Head of Media Campaigns and Communications, Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
