Moët &; Chandon Unveiled Scarlett Johansson As The First Face Of Champagne At Fabulous "Tribute To Cinema" Event

MOËT &; CHANDON UNVEILED SCARLETT JOHANSSON AS THE FIRST FACE OF CHAMPAGNE AT FABULOUS "TRIBUTE TO CINEMA" EVENT

Moët, the Champagne of Cinema, Revealed its Iconic Muse before a Dazzling Array of International Who's Who, including Thandie Newton, Joseph Fiennes and Melanie Laurent
25 March, 2009, London, U.K. /PRNewswire/ — Moët & Chandon, the champagne of cinema, last night introduced its highly-anticipated celebrity spokesperson at the brand's "Tribute to Cinema" gala at the Big Sky studio in London: the effervescent Scarlett Johansson. Always the legendary pioneer, Moët is the very first champagne House to introduce a Hollywood celebrity ambassador as the face of the world's most loved champagne.

Celebrating among the delighted and glamorous guest list was array of British and international movie stars and socialites, including Thandie Newton, Joseph Fiennes and Melanie Laurent.

Moët's "Tribute to Cinema" theme infused every detail of the evening, which was held at London's Big Sky film studio. British and international celebrities arrived in "red carpet" attire and were elegantly greeted by House President Frédéric Cumenal. Following the Moët red carpet tradition from the international film festivals the House supports, celebrities were then invited to autograph a Moët & Chandon Nebuchadnezzar, which will be auctioned off in direct support of Scarlett's charity of choice, international aid agency Oxfam and its climate change work.

Upon entering the studio, guests were instantly plunged into an enchanting sensorial cinema experience, an audio and video projection of the most celebratory moments from iconic films. The pièce de résistance was the fabulous gilded Moët cork in the center of the studio, symbolizing Moët's ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Around 10:30pm, to the delight and surprise of all present, Scarlett Johansson was revealed as the Hollywood face of Moët & Chandon. Frédéric Cumenal escorted her into the event from the red carpet, where the guests warmly received her.

Moët and the movies are intrinsically similar, as both share magic with the world and make people dream. Like the movies, Moët is also a powerful and enchanting symbol of celebration, in good times and in these financially difficult times.

"Moët and the movies both tell compelling stories and share authentic emotions with the world," explained Scarlett Johansson, the Hollywood face of Moët & Chandon. "I am honored to have been chosen as their ambassador and to make history with the brand, as the first celebrity face of champagne!"

"Scarlett Johansson was the obvious choice as our ambassador because she, like Moët, has a magical story to tell and makes people dream", said Frédéric Cumenal, President of Moët & Chandon. "She is a true icon of celebration — refreshingly spontaneous, generous, glamorous and she lives life to the fullest both on-screen and off".

In yet another fabulous surprise following the champagne toast, the gilded cork opened, revealing iconic London trendsetter-cum-DJ Jefferson Hack and Paris-born Jerry Bouthier behind turntables, transforming the studio into a glamorous dance floor, where guests celebrated for the rest of the evening.

Moët will launch an international advertising campaign starring Scarlett Johansson from April 2009, which was shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. The campaign will include print, outdoor and online advertising, featuring Moët and Scarlett as icons of celebration and reinforcing the brand as the champagne of cinema.

Black Ladies, Black Beauties

The western nations have a monopoly of the media online and offline and they have been using their monopoly of the media to boost Western culture and to dictate the life styles of the rest of humanity and we have seen their monopoly of global commerce in most aspects of life.

Western fashion is often the first choice of other cultures in the world. Africans are the worst copycats of Western culture in haute couture, airs and graces and they have even gone as far as making sloppish parodies of Western shows and desperately trying to ape the American and Western European models and status symbols. We even use Western models to judge our native beauties at beauty pageants. The closer you are to the Caucasian the more likely you are to win a beauty pageant in AFRICA of all places!

The girls and women with dark skin often feel inferior to those with fair and light skin and resort to bleaching or the fancy word toning.
The fact that bleaching or toning is very common among dark-skinned Black girls and women is the proof of their inferiority complex in comparison to those who are fair and light skinned.

The Nokia FACE of AFRICA has given more exposure to dark-skinned beauties from Africa, but they are still using the Western model of the thin beauty to judge the African girls. We do not encourage our girls and women to starve themselves and look like straw figures. We love them healthy and plump. Any African beauty pageant without plumpy women is not the true representation of an African beauty.

I have always challenged the Western notions and stereotypes of beauty by reporting and writing on African beauties even in the state of nature, topless and proud.

See the awesome black and beautiful Shaundra Denise and tell me if she is not sexier than their so called Scarlett Johansson voted sexiest woman on Earth or Jessica Biel Sexiest Woman Alive.
Most of these so called sexiest white women in the world either have flat buttocks or flabby buttocks!

The Black woman is the most beautiful woman in the world and most artists and photographers in the world have acknowledged this fact.

My African Beauty blog was created for the celebration of the natural beauty of the Black woman in Africa and show her as the symbol of Black beauty in the world.

The following book on Black Ladies is a celebration of the Black woman and we need more of such books like a photo book of Nigerian Black beauties or African beauties.

Scarlett Johansson: Anywhere I Lay My Head

Scarlett Johansson's debut disc, "Anywhere I Lay My Head," and still have no earthly idea what she actually sounds like.
~ Allison Stewart on the The Washington Post Tuesday, May 20, 2008; Page C01

Anywhere I Lay My Head

One of my favorite actresses in Hollywood, Scarlett Johansson has fulfilled her childhood dream to be a singer and I am happy for her.

The progress and success of Scarlett as a singer will depend on her songwriters, music producer, and music director. They should give her voice training so that she will not end up lip-synching like many actresses who have made forays into music.

Nigerian Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio (TVOTR) featured in Scarlett Johansson’s debut album and the producer also used Nigerian logs in the percussions.

Amazon's Review:

Recorded at Dockside Studio in Louisiana’s Cajun country, Scarlett Johansson’s debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head features her distinctive vocal interpretations of ten songs by legendary singer-songwriter Tom Waits. It also introduces one original track, "Song For Jo," which she co-wrote with David Andrew Sitek (TV on the Radio), who produced the album and lent his instrumental skills throughout. The title track comes from Waits’ 1985 opus Rain Dogs, and Johansson’s set also pulls cuts from Alice, Swordfishtrombones, Big Time, Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, Real Gone, Small Change and Bone Machine. David Bowie adds backing vocals on two tracks, "Falling Down" and "Fannin Street," and the disc also features the talents of Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and multi-instrumentalist Sean Antanaitis from Celebration, among others.

Love in Abuja

Abuja
Abuja, Nigeria.

The romantic weekend I had last Friday in Abuja reminded me of Love in Tokyo.

I crossed the dangerous Bonny Channel of the Niger Delta early in the morning last Thursday and went to Port Harcourt to take a bus or car to Abuja. I was taken to the Edo Line motorpark where I joined other passengers in a Peugeot car. I felt comfortable in the company of young and pretty Nigerian women and a younger Nigerian man. Grace was the prettiest, but my mind was filled with the thoughts of my mission to Abuja. When the car taking us to Abuja broke down near Sapele in Delta state, the passengers had the opportunity of having cordial discussion. I had to cross the busy express road to buy a bottle of Coca-Cola and sachet water for Grace and the other women, including the young mother and her cute baby. We waited for hours before the company operating the transport service sent another driver and a small vehicle to continue our journey to Abuja, but Grace decided to spend the night in Benin and continue her trip to Abuja in the morning. We reached Abuja at about 10 p.m and I found a taxicab to take me to a private guest house where I passed the night.
The cab driver decided to stay close to me and I told him to call my Sweetest and let her know that I was in Abuja.

I went to Abuja to see my princess and my queen.
I could not reach her until the following day when I told her that I was delayed on the way and arrived late in the night. She was really excited. We have not seen for a long time, so we were happy to meet again. I had to leave the guest house early in the morning of Friday for a better accommodation that would be more comfortable to her. When she came, she was looking prettier and sexier than Scarlet Johansson and taller too. The cab driver I sent to bring her told me he could not deny the beauty of the Queen of my heart.
She made my first private visit to Abuja an awesome experience of romance.
