Lionsgate Roars With 19 Emmy(R) Award Nominations

Studio's Acclaimed AMC Drama MAD MEN Tops Drama Series Category With 16 Nominations, Including Nods for Best Series, Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Guest Actor, Writing, Directing and Cinematography

Lionsgate's Hit Showtime Comedy WEEDS Scores Three Nominations, Led by Mary-Louise Parker's Second Consecutive Emmy Nod for Outstanding Lead Actress

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Lionsgate's (NYSE:LGF) acclaimed AMC drama MAD MEN earned 16 Emmy(R) nominations today -- the most among all drama series -- marking the first time a basic cable program has topped that list. Nominations include nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor (Jon Hamm), Supporting Actor (John Slattery), Guest Actor (Robert Morse), Writing, Directing and Cinematography.


The Company's hit comedy WEEDS scored three nominations, led by Mary-Louise Parker's second consecutive Emmy(R) nod for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work in the much buzzed-about Showtime series.

Set to launch its second season on AMC July 27, MAD MEN has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim since its premiere and has garnered a long list of honors, including Golden Globe(R) Awards for Best Television Series -- Drama, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series -- Drama (Jon Hamm); an AFI Award as One of the Top 10 Outstanding Television Programs of 2007 and a Peabody Award among many others.
